Ship's Bow This is what helicopters are for. I wanted to get the semi-abstract image of the bow of a ship plowing through the water straight at the camera. You couldn't do this from another craft or you'd have the wake from the camera boat messing up the water in the foreground. If you shot from a bridge, there'd be a large bill for rebuilding the bridge. Fortunately, we had a flat-light, no-wind day so I stood on the struts of the helicopter secured by my climbing harness. The pilot flew sideways at deck level so I could carefully compose the shot. Easy!
